I'm Starting a Practice Group for Inner Work—Join Me!
Back in 2024, I spent a week at a retreat that I would have quietly dismissed only a few years earlier. In fact, when my partner told me she was going to attend the Summer Intensive with Thomas Huebl and invited me to join, my first reaction was a bit snarky:
“Use my vacation days for that? I don’t think so!”
My vacation days were rare, and if I took them, I wanted to relax—not expose myself to a tight schedule of 14 hours per day doing “inner work”.
Today, I’m so glad I went! This week, and the ones that followed in the summers of 2025 and most recently in 2026, were among the most transformative experiences of my life.
Join my Practice Group for Inner WorkMy journey (the short version)
I’ve had a stutter since I was a kid, and even though I’ve learned to “hide” it quite well, I began to notice how much anxiety and shame are still frozen inside of me because of it. I realized how I had structured my life around suppressing and avoiding the stutter to not deal with these feelings, and how much energy this cost.
I looked back at the romantic relationships that didn’t have a chance to survive or the friendships that could never go deep, because I was too afraid to show myself.
I understood the self-destructive behavior I resorted to, in order to not feel the loneliness that came from the inability to connect deeply with others.
Already after the retreat in 2024, I could see all of these things more clearly. I left with a lot of inspiration, had deep conversations with friends and family afterwards. But I also felt how it was difficult to keep up the connection if I was not practicing. The inspiration and energy the retreat had brought was slowly fading away.
After the retreat in 2025, I felt a strong desire to bring more of this work into my life and stay connected to it even beyond those summer retreats. So, I joined a Practice Group for Transparent Communication in Berlin where we meet every other week to practice the same kind of work done at the retreats. I also went through the Training to lead these Practice Groups myself.
Starting a Practice Group for Inner Work
Inner work, as I understand it, is the practice of paying attention to what’s happening inside you, in the company of other people. It increases the capacity for connection—with yourself and with others. It may sound super simple, maybe a bit abstract or esoteric, and I personally would have never expected the richness it has brought into my life.
I’m now at a point where I want to deepen my practice even further by sharing it with others. That’s why I’m starting an online practice group.
There are two different versions of the group. The work is the same, the difference is the people in the room.
Open group: 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month (7pm Berlin | 10am SF)
The open group is for everyone who wants to simply give this a try or can’t commit to multiple sessions over a longer period.
I’d still encourage people to join the open group regularly though, it can take a while to get familiar and feel the impact in one’s life.
Closed group: 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month (7pm Berlin | 10am SF)
The closed group will run over a period of 3 months with the same people. Sitting with familiar faces over time increases the level of safety felt inside the group and we can start going deeper.
In this group, I’m asking for a voluntary contribution between 25€ and 100€ (for the entire cycle) to help cover some costs. This remains optional though, I don’t want anyone to not attend because of cost.
Who this is for
What I realized at those retreats and practice groups is that people there were mostly from other fields (psychologists, coaches, social workers, …) and almost nobody from my own. So I’m starting this group specifically for people who had no prior contact with any of this.
That being said, I want everyone to feel invited—whether you’ve been practicing longer or have never tried anything remotely similar. I strongly believe that the group will benefit from whatever energy you’re bringing into the room.
You may think that you need a kind of “problem” to join. That’s not how I see it. This is not a therapy group and we’re not here to “solve” anything. We’re here to understand ourselves more deeply, the rest will follow anyways.
What happens during a session?
A session, both in the open and closed group, follows this structure:
- Sitting in silence — slow down for a few minutes and arrive
- Check-in — everyone says how they’re doing and what’s on their mind
- Triad — we split into groups of three and work with a prompt
- Break
- Triad — new groups, new prompt
- Check-out — everyone shares where they are now
- Sitting in silence — slow down and digest
Here’s a bit more context about each element.
Sitting in silence
Isn’t this meditation? Meditation is a strong word and it may bring up very different associations depending on who you talk to. I prefer simply calling it “Sitting in silence” for the purpose of this group. There are no expectations that you’ve done this before, or that anything special happens for you during the silence. It’s simply a way to slow down and observe what’s happening inside you.
Check-in/Check-out
During the check-in and check-out rounds, everyone briefly shares how they’re here and what’s currently on their mind.
This is not about introducing yourself, nor about telling others who you are, or a story about what you’re doing in your life, etc; it’s about sharing what’s happening to you in this current moment.
Triads
Triads are at the heart of the work we do. To me personally, they’re the most powerful tool for human connection I’ve ever experienced.
And they’re so simple: Three people, one prompt/question, a set amount of time. One person speaks, the other two just listen. When the time’s up, the next person speaks. No questions, no advice, no comments.
You may need to try it a few times to feel the magic of it. Once you do, it’s hard to imagine your life without it.
Hope to see you there!
Regardless of how you came to this—whether you’re a friend, an older acquaintance, a former colleague or have never crossed paths with me at all yet—I want you to feel invited to join one of the groups.
